Boyd and I were relaxing on the couch eating ice cream before bed. *I KNOW this makes us sound like we should be getting a senior citizen discount* Boyd begins to laugh out loud. He asks me what in the H Grover is doing on top of the entertainment center - - and for that matter - - the dinosaur too?!
Me: Well, Dum-Dum . . . they add a touch of sophistication to our home.
We really need cable.

Secret Moves
O stayed at our house last weekend. For whole 2 nights. He was pretty proud of himself. We bought a slip-n-slide to help entertain. Both Boyd and I went on it. I found myself unable to get out of bed the next morning . . . who knew it was such an ab workout!? Thank God for privacy fences.
G was over for one of the days to play. The boys were making up all sort of "secret moves" for the slide. It was a nice weekend.
In other news: The reason WHY I still have not posted pics of the inside of my house is because it still looks like this:
Must . . . . put . . . . . away . . . crap . . . .

The Need For Speed.
I got pulled over the other day for speeding.
I was going 40 mph in a 35 zone. Honestly. Do the police here have nothing better to do? Isn’t there some teenager smoking weed somewhere that they can sniff out instead? Check out my neighborhood - - I smell it nearly every night. STOP WASTING MY TIME. I loved it when Mr. Policeman said: “Why are you in such a hurry?” Ummm . . . I was GOING 40MPH!!! How does that constitute being in a hurry?! I almost said: “Well, I’m a drug mule and we are typically in a hurry. Boyd nearly fell over when I told him that. He asked me if I really said that . . . I didn’t. I just wanted to. He breathed a sigh of relief and once again explained that somehow we probably know the guy.
It's hard to rant and rave in a small town. :)

I Blame Boyd.
People keep asking me if we are settled into our house. Umm . . No. Yes, we may have closed over 2 weeks ago and yes, NORMAL people get things done quickly. We like the "camping" feel of our house . . . our bed is on the floor, Boyd's clothes have no idea what a dresser is and a major victory is finding a towel. I made our first meal last night . . . it was white rice. That counts, right?! Tonight is hotdogs . . . I'm turning gourmet.
I blame Boyd for my lack of productivity. He's more concerned with arranging the garage. I find this irritating and somehow justifies me to not work on the house also.
And yes, I will post pictures of the actual house someday. Just like I will post pictures of Sister2's wedding. In due time. (i.e. when I feel like it)
We were in Minnesota last weekend to work on the Stillwater back deck. I should rephrase: Boyd worked - I socialized. It was wonderful to see so many special friends all in one weekend (shout out to Stacy, Candy, Jenny, Wendi, Tony and Darren! Miss you all!). And it was wonderful to have multiple garage sales at my disposal. And restaurants. And shops. I now have a haircut, moisturizer AND new curtains. Impressive, yes?
I have been delinquent in my prep for the July sale. I am now in panic mode. MUST PAINT FURNITURE. This may be contributing to my lack of domesticity in the house. I keep telling Boyd to "just give me 2 more weeks and then I will calm down."
My empty promises are starting to pile up.

Oh July.
July is shaping up quite nicely. Its warm. And sunny. And windy . . . but lets not focus on the negative.
Our 4th of July went well. We did the usual: boating, eating, napping, eating, fireworks, triathlon, eating, baseball. Boyd was in the triathlon with my Uncle Chuck. They did alright for never canoeing together. And for the record, Uncle Chuck had never canoed in his life so all-in-all they did great. *Side note: This is not a REAL triathlon. There is canoeing instead of swimming and you get a teammate.* Sister1 was in it with cousin Trish and they rocked. Dad was not going to be in the triathlon but brought his bike "just in case". Sure enough he talked Doug Thue into joining him. Have I mentioned that my dad is competitive? No? Well, he is. I remember all sorts of "contests" growing up. Sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, free throws, etc. Taunting was always encouraged. One contest that I did pretty well at was the "how long can you keep your feet in this large pan of ice water." Ahhh . . . all 10 of my loyal readers are saying . . . that makes total sense that she would win that contest . . . she is such a Life Success Story. An inspiration, yes?
Speaking of "rocking". Sister1 decided to try wakeboarding. Boyd was giving her instructions on how it works and she was trying to get her feet positioned into the board. Sister1 states: "No one will feel like they can try wakeboarding after I rock it on my first time!" She then fell backwards into the boat instead of into the lake. I laughed. But to be fair . . . . she did get up and did quite well. Silly-First-Born-Over-Achiever.
In other news. I overslept on Tuesday. I woke up at 8:01 am. Works starts at 8. I NEVER oversleep. However, I somehow managed to walk/dash into the office at 8:14. Its nice being only a mile from work and also nice being comfortable with looking like crap. THIS morning . . . I couldn't find my keys. I keep my keys in 1 of 3 places. They were nowhere to be found. I immediately start shooting hate rays towards Boyd because it must be his fault. It only makes sense. I decide not to panic and grab my bike. I can bike to work. LOTS of people bike to work. I sling my purse over my shoulder, slip on some flip flops and realize the back tire is flat. ARGH!!!! So I walked. I was late again. *sigh*
Fun News: Adrienne Graves is in town and doing a jewelry promotion on Saturday evening. I am actually out of town but Donna is promising delicious treats/food. Ade gave me a preview of the stuff she is bringing and it is GORGEOUS. Seriously . . . check it out. You will not be disappointed. PLUS, 20% is going towards a charity AND you get 15% off AND a free pair of earrings with a jewelry purchase! Saturday from 7pm to 8:30 pm.
I am going to post this now. I am not proofreading it because I have to leave the shoppe soon and my new house does not have wi-fi. So. There.

Our House In The Middle Of Our Street.
We bought a house! We are in the process of moving yet again. A "not so fun fact" - this is our 3rd move since October. You would think we would have the process down - but we do not.
On the top of my list of WHY I don't like moving is that I never know where anything is. I ended up using a pillow case for a towel. I ran to Target to buy new sheets since I couldn't find our tote of linens JUST to realize after I got home that I only bought one flat sheet - not a set, like I had thought. Oh, Target . . . how can you do this to me - you always make me happy when skies are gray. I have been let down.
The paint fumes gave me a severe headache and I woke up several times in pain. Of course, who knows where in the H the ibuprofen is. . . probably with our linens. Boyd slept blissfully. Jerk.
HOWEVER . . . despite my moaning and groaning, I am very excited to have a new place to call home. The backyard is delightful. The previous owner was meticulous inside and out with this property and I am forever grateful to him. G and O came to check out the new digs and G says: "This is the coolest house I have ever seen - all you need is a zipline and a hot tub." He was being serious. O picked a few of our strawberries and says excitedly to Sister1: "Mom! These taste just like real strawberries!"
I guess I will have to add zipline to my "must purchase" list along with vacuum cleaner and microwave. Does anyone else find it disappointing to use birthday money to buy a stupid vacuum cleaner?!
And lastly . . . please enjoy a lovely tune from the 80s. I think.

I am a Tease.
So. One odd thing that happened during the wedding ordeal is a texting conversation that I THOUGHT I was having with Dan, the videographer.
Me (2:30pm Saturday): This is Sabrina, text me when u r around bc I have the video camera.
Dan (10pm Sunday): Ya so?
Me: **Ignore text bc Dan had already left the wedding to head back to MN. I assumed the text was meant for someone else**
Dan (7 am Monday): What do you have in mind?
Me (7:10 am Monday): *Ugh. Seriously, Dan. Look to see who you are texting!* I think you are texting the wrong person. This is Sabrina. :)
Dan (7:15 am Monday): Just following your text. It sounded interesting.
Me (7:25 am Monday): Ahhh . . . was totally confused : ) Very funny.
Dan (7:35 am Monday): I'm Jeff.
*****
For any of you concerned. I did not make any rendezvous plans with Jeff. I told Boyd he now has some competition so he better bring his A Game. He's scared. ;)

In Shoppe news . . . . we have our FIRST EVER OCCASIONAL SALE happening this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Did any of you forget?! Write it down now. I will wait.
NORMALLY, there will be a special vendor or two who will be bringing a stockpile of stuff for the Occasional Sales. However, I am that special vendor for June. Pretend I am a "special vendor". It would make me feel . . . special. :) I've been holding back on a lot of my inventory so the place will be packed. Join us for the ribbon cutting at 3:30 on Thursday. The doors will open right after that.

Yes. I'm tired. And yes, we close on our house at 8am on Friday.

Must jet to the office. Have a wonderful Tuesday.
